So What...

So what if it is the middle of winter.
So what if two of the participants are sick.
So what if the Super Bowl Game was on.
So what if a participant sliced a piece of his thumb.
When you live on Fall Brook Court, you just live...in the moment. We know there are antibiotics if the kids get sicker. We know that wounds must be kept dry...

But more importantly, we just let our kids be. Amazing how much fun a water balloon fight can be in the middle of winter. Will they remember who won today's Super Bowl (okay Ricky will)...no and why should they? What they will remember is the balloon fight. Hiding behind Neighbor Joe's wall, Oreo scampering off and a mom getting beaned in the back, not once, but twice!

Jessica and Noah will never forget bombing my car with a water balloon as I drove off to scrapbooking. As Noah stated, "the balloon was stuck to your car still," and sure enough there was a shriveled up piece of a yellow balloon that decorated my back window into a muddish creation.

Life is good when you hear laughter. Life is even better when the laughter is coming from kids. My kids are blessed to have the great kids next door. Soon the laughter will dwindle as they grow and leave the nest. Jenn and I will be out doing yard duty just for the sake of it. We will laugh and reminisce about the hockey stick incident, chalk art and after today we added another memory, soaked kids running around in the cold...with smiles on their faces and laughter filling the end of the block.

If someone wakes up sick tomorrow, so what, they had fun and that is what matters. If you don't agree...so what.

Peace.
